Unfolding

Hello, dearest friend!

A warm and heartfelt Happy New Year to you! Yes, I know, we’re well into February, but the joy of a fresh beginning never fades, does it? I hope you are doing well, that life is being kind, and that at the end of each day, your heart finds gratitude in the little and the big things alike.

As for me, I’ve been navigating the winding roads of “getting my life together.” It’s been a journey, one that has stretched me, challenged me, and drawn me closer to the gentle guidance of the Holy Spirit. But here I am, finding my rhythm again, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to share with you this year. You know this space—our cozy little corner—has always been filled with book reviews, personal finance tips, glimpses into my life, and, most dear to my heart, my solo dates with God. This year, it’s all of that, but with a deeper sense of intention, guided by Him.

So, what can you expect as we walk this path together?

First, books! Oh, the joy of books. I have quite the collection from last year—ones I had every intention of devouring but, well, life happened. This year, I plan to read them and share my thoughts with you. Some of the titles waiting for me include:

  • You’re Not Enough (And That’s Okay) by Allie Beth Stuckey

  • It Will Cost You Everything: What It Takes to Follow Jesus by Steven J. Lawson

  • A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George

I’m excited to dive into these pages and unpack the wisdom they hold. I hope you’ll join me in these reflections, perhaps even read along if you’d like!

Now, onto something that requires great discipline—finances. This year, I’ve set a bold challenge for myself: a year-long no-spend challenge. Sounds daunting, right? But it’s all for a purpose. I have a big savings goal that will help me build my side hustle business, and that means every penny needs to be intentional. To stay on track, I got myself a cash envelope wallet, neatly organized with separate pockets for fixed expenses. If it’s not in one of those folders, it’s not being spent. A bit extreme? Maybe. But I believe discipline today will lead to freedom tomorrow.

And of course, I want to invite you into my daily life. I’ve recently found such beauty in the art of noticing. The small, seemingly mundane moments—the way the sunlight dances on my desk in the morning, the comfort of a warm cup of tea on a slow evening. Life is full of these little gifts, and I want to capture them, to share them with you, to remind us both that joy is often hidden in the ordinary.

So, my dear friend, settle in. Pour yourself a cup of something warm, and let’s journey through this year together—one book, one lesson, one beautiful moment at a time.
